Tigz Theatre, a new and exciting theatre company with strong Welsh roots, launched in 2013 with the aim of bringing the best of a multi-talented and multi-disciplined approach to theatre. We constantly strive to be the best in our field and use the best of up and coming and emerging talent to create shows that will make you laugh and cry, but will never be predictable. We can also provide a maintenance and training service to small groups, specialising in helping the amateur and community theatre sectors, more information on these services will be added to the website soon.
“Tea with Mamgu”, Tigz Theatre’s most popular show to date, a dementia story of family, friends and failing memories, will be performed as part of Camden Fringe 2015. In addition to the return of Tea with Mamgu we will be co-producing “The Whale in the Bathtub” a new piece for children young and old which has already been selected as Camden Reviews’ “most exciting family show”. The Whale in the Bathtub tells the story of three children who find a whale washed up in their garden and the adventures that they have whilst it lives in their bathtub.
In addition to Tigz Theatre’s professional work we also support the London Welsh Centre’s Community Drama Group. This is a group of non-professional community performers based across London who gather every Friday at the London Welsh Centre to work with our Artistic Director to create an exciting annual performance. There are no auditions and anyone can take part in either performing or helping out back stage. This years production is Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” which will be devised by the group for a performance in December. If you are interested in taking part please pop along to the London Welsh Centre on Grey’s Inn Road, rehearsals start at 7.30pm.
